Switching to clean makeup - our top tips

Feeling ready to start making the switch to clean makeup? Not quite sure where to start? We've got you covered!
Tip #1 - Take your time
When making the switch to clean, we recommend you take your time. You want to make sure you’re investing in products that are right for your skin. That’s why we don’t recommend throwing all your conventional products at once (that would be a very costly waste). As you start to run out of your products, replace them one by one and swap them for a clean alternative.
Tip #2 - Have fun exploring the alternatives
The clean makeup beauty industry has come a long way over the years and there’s no reason that you shouldn’t be having fun exploring the effective, nourishing, accessible, affordable and cruelty free alternatives out there, all while looking out for your health and the health of the planet!
Tip #3 - Categories to swap
Here are 3 categories of products that we recommend you start clean-swapping first:
1. Your foundation. Your foundation covers the largest surface area of your face so it's the one product that we recommend you swap out first. Thankfully there are fantastic clean alternatives suitable for all skin types and for the coverage and finish you are after.
2. Lip Products. Lipstick, lip gloss, lip liner. Consider the products that perch on your pout throughout the day. As you speak, eat, drink etc. you ingest these products. They are also one of the categories of products that you are most likely to reapply frequently during the day. Thankfully there are effective, clean formulations to swap out to so you can rest assured you aren't eating any ingredients you'd prefer not to.
3. The products you can't leave the house without applying first. Don't fret about swapping out that one eyeshadow you use a couple of times a year. Think about those that you can't live without, like the mascara you apply everyday (your eyes are a surprisingly easy entry point for ingredients into your body) or the liner that makes up your signature look and start with those.
